Muang Ngeun crossing Laos to Thailand
Can anyone please give me any info about this crossing? I plan to use it in October and I'd like to know if it can cater for foreign vehicles ok
Thanks |
Muang Ngeun - Huay Kon is an international border crossing between Laos and Thailand so it shouldnt be any problems afaik. I have used it once but it was back in 2013 so its a while ago.
If you ride R1081 down to Nan you will have a blast. Its a awesome road. |
Excellent - thanks

Laos Thailand Border crossings
Hi Jason,
Have a look on the Hubb at ''Am I screwed in Thailand?" there is info about the border crossings there. I will be crossing in the next few days and will give my thoughts about the crossing asap. My wife and I have crossed many Thai/Laos borders in the recent past, however, the Thai authorities have, or are, or thinking about changing the rules. Hope this helps Kind regards Dave & Les www.overlandersthailand.com Plodd - A Trip of a Lifetime |
I used it between Christmas and new year 2014/2015. It was an easy crossing and I was on a hire bike. The guys in the kiosk near the barrier just before you leave Thai helped me fill out my paperwork. All was very friendly.
At the Laos side all was good again but not quite as friendly as the Thai side I think flash to bang was about 40/50 mins https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7567/...168034b3_c.jpgIMG_1029 by Wayne 66, on Flickr https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7560/...3e08a15a_c.jpgIMG_1030 by Wayne 66, on Flickr https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7552/...1209cf03_c.jpgIMG_1032 by Wayne 66, on Flickr Laos Side https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7484/...bb5358a0_c.jpgIMG_1033 by Wayne 66, on Flickr Wayne |
