Myanmar road conditions
 

I am planning a trip from India to Thailand crossing Myanmar. How are the roads in Myanmar, do I need knobby tires?

I spoke to a French family traveling in a campervan, they crossed from thailand to india. Roads were bad (knocked the camper about pretty badly) but they managed with regular tyres. Mind you, it is a camper and not a bike... check their site: nomadistes.com.

I just cross Myanmar from Thai into India 10-25 Sep 2015. I hired a tour guide to do that and the guide was on his own minivan. The road in Myanmar is passable by four wheels. No worry. Since you are coming from India, the only thing that you may want to be concern is few roads under construction and repair due to land slide between Amphal to Moreh, India.
