NE Vietnam - Any one been there recently?
 

Currently planning a circuit round NE Vietnam. There have been some reports about very poor road condition around the Cao Bang/Ban Gioc area and the QL4A in particular. Does anyone have recent news?

Don't worry about the roads, makes a more interesting ride IMO just rent the correct bike and you will be fine.
Honda CRF 250L is the one to rent.

Hi there, I know what you mean but this time travelling two up with Mrs C so there are limits. Having said that its always handy to have someone to push!

Last year I did that roads on Minsk 125 two stroke that I purchased in Hanoy for 500 US and road around Indochina for 5000 km.
No problem at all as Cao Bang/Ban Gioc area roads are in good order.
