Paperwork
With the Corona virus shut down my paperwork is an apsoulute mess. One way to fix some of it would be to get a CDP from Automotive Association of Malaysia. I checked with them on the way through and they said it was doable. Problem now is AAM has moved and I think bought out by another country and I have not found contact information on line. So anyone out there know what is going on and how to contact them?

Normally you get a CDP from your and the bikes home country, which for you would be Boomerang Carnets. Technically you cannot get a carnet from another issuing authority unless your home country does NOT have an issuing authority. There often seem to be ways around this, but that's the "rule".
I do know that Boomerang is very much in operation, so check with them. |
Thanks Grant
As you say the rule is "get in your own country". But ... there are reasons I am wanting to get in Malaysia, one being if I can make Iran they can cover it which the government here will not allow. When I talked to AAM two years ago they said they would do it. (the rule really is if you are not getting in home country issuing agency need to get permission from who ever issues it in home country) |
