Youre asking about road conditions in Thailand in a thread about travelling in north east India?

Well - here we go:

Alternative 1 - Mae Sot - Tak - Lampang - Chiang Mai - all roads are good to great. Nothing to worry over even with a Harley.

Alternative 2: Mae Sot - Mae Sariang - Chiang Mai. Some small stretches were still having road works done and upgrading and there will maybe be a few small stretches with gravel as of may 2015 - the last time I rode there. But nothing to worry much about, just take it easy through those stretches.

Long time storage in Thailand will be a problem as you only get 30 days temporary import when you bring in a bike on foreign plates to Thailand.
Thus youre bike will only be allowed to stay in Thailand for 30 days. This 30 days temporary import can be extended with 30 days at a time up yo 6 months but then you will need to take the bike out of the country.
Its a bummer but thats how it is. If you really need to store your bike in Southeastasia for a long period of time I would suggest you to look to Cambodia. It seems like a much easier country to long time store a bike as they dont record any vehicles when they arrive or exit the country.
