SE Asia / Vietnam to Japan, what options?
 

Hello,

I'm currently in India and will be crossing Myanmar soon. I have initially planned to end my journey in Japan. Still, tere is a last "lock" to be released: How to reach Japan from a SE Asian country (Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapor, etc)?

I got to some idea which would be: train from Vietnam to Hongkong or Shanghai in China, and from there to ro-ro ferry to South Korea, and finally Japan. The train part is tricky... given it might be possible to load a bike, what does the chinese laws state about it? (Except carnet and visa)

Anyone attempted something like this?
