Hubb member Coolgreany shipped his bike from Malaysia to NZ late 2014 and the procedure is described in post # 10 in this thread:

Maybe that could give you some ideas and information.

270 kg Bike too Auckland

Hello
I flew my bike from KL too Auckland on the 27th of December 2015
Total price was around 4800 Ringgits for a 270 kg bike.
Everything was just as the Hubb Member Coolgreany wrote on his thread.
I just bordered the plane with hand luggage.
Could of dragged a pannier with me and saved 20 kg.
Washed my bike at a Home hostel called " Moon Eleven " near the airport at( no 9 Jalan Kota Warisan , Permai 2/5 that was 40 Ringgits per night.
Its a private house that caters for transit passengers waiting for there next flights but has a good area to wash your bike down properly ( you will really need it for Aussie or NZ ) or work on it. safe area.
Found it on the Hostels.com site.

Probably arrived in Auckland with a two hour difference from the Maskargo plane carrying my bike.

Stayed overnight as it was too late at the " Kiwi Airport Backpackers " at 144 McKenzie Road ,Auckland 2022 in a dorm NZ$35 a night which have a NZ$5 airport minivan five minutes away.

As Coolgreany says in Auckland, but can be a lot of walking to the Customs Office and Bio office , two times.

The Bio inspections officer claims you can only have the bike inspected the day after a booking but that's just formal procedure as the office of the inspector is probably only a 100 meters away from your bike should be parked. You need too see the guy or ring him to arrange same day inspection which you probably want as you can be on the road easily the same day.

The VTNZ testing station is also very close by but those guys failed my bike as they were not familar with para-lever suspension. You will want your bike to Pass their safety inspection so get anything done before you fly.

I,ll get back with more accurate costs as paperwork is elsewhere currently.
