Taichileik Myanmar/Thai border
 

Up date. We are at a stop with information at the Taichileik border at the moment.
The Thai customs officer on the border told the last people that crossed in to Thailand that after the 31st October they will not allow anybody to cross in to Thailand at that border without a permit, so we will have to wait until early November to see what happens when some foreigners with vehicles attempt to cross.

The main problem is that I do not know anybody that can issue a permit and I also think that if you do fined some to issue one then they will say they will only issue a permit if you have a guide and guides will be expensive.

Bummer-bummer-bummer!!!

Just because one traveller showed up at the border and shoved a permit straight into the face of the Customs staff. So now they just cannot let be enforcing the permit and guide laws...doh :thumbdown::nono:
