Very nice place to stay, slept in truck, we were treated as VIP's by the owner "Said" great evening meal in Berber tent and breakfast was served by our trucks in the morning, all for a very modest amount of money. Clean modern toilets and showers.

Best place we stayed by far and I would plan another trip with this as a high light stop over.

Room for only 4-5 4X4's only so I would book in advance.

Marrakesh - tried the Islane hotel, just round the corner from the main square and opposite the main mosque. paid £48 for a double room/breakfast so not a budget place, but nice rooms and good roof terrace restaurant. They advertise parking but it is in fact over the road at a secure compound next to the mosque - no probs though and was guarded overnight with lots of overland rigs parked up.

Zagora - another vote for la Palmerie, surprisingly good for the money.

South of Rabbat towards Cassablanca - camping near a village called Mansouriaa at Ocean Blue camp site, on the coast road. Watch out for sign posts for the camp, and you drive across the sand a bit and into a pretty walled compound with moroccan tiling and clean loos.

Nice moroccan cuisine. Small independent houses. I was there 3 times in 2009. See by yourself. Book by e-mail in advance. "Um porto de abrigo".

Marrakech
You won't go much better or cheaper than the Hotel Ali, on the main square
It's easy to miss but very, very popular. (it's just behind the post office on the main square)
Sleeping on the rooftop is also a cheaper option and also popular in the summer. And if they are full.
Staff are excellent
Views of the main square
Breakfast included

Morocco general
Budget hotels - expect to pay around 50Dh - 70Dh (about 5 - 7 euro) per night, 50 Dh in less popular towns.

Parking your bike - most towns
Ask or look for the one of the many bike parks that the locals also use. Expect to pay around 10Dh (1 euro) per night or 20Dh max. If they ask for more, find another. There are loads. Many underground so maybe hard to spot. All the ones I used, and it seems to be the norm, are secure and watched 24hr. No problem. Also, ask the guys at whatever hotel you are staying at. I found most people were very helpful indeed. My scooter was parked inside many a hotel courtyard for free.
I recommend Chefcheouan. Charming! Just remember to take your 'get rid of the pesky hawkers' stick with you.

Agdz
Jardins Tamnougalt in Tamnougalte. A few kilometers south of Agdz along the N9, cross the Draa river at the kasbah Taouirt (that one of the Bertolucci movie). After the bridge a few 100 meters at your right hand site.

Great, peaceful place with gardens. Ismail Elalaoui is a great host, friendly and discrete. Prepares excellent food. Car park at the entrance, off the road. Cheap for what you get. Empty swimming pool ;-)

Hotel Baraka in the medina of Chefchaouen

The riad is magnificent, it's newly redecorated and very pleasant looking, tidy and clean and the comfortable terrace is a delightful place to have dinner, refresh or simply dream while watching the sunset over the medina where the hotel is located, not far from the entrance.
We took a room with toilets and shower for about 15 euros per day and that includes a very healthy breakfast served at any time in the morning. Our bedroom is as beautiful as the rest of the hotel. We just don't want to leave. :)
The British owners, two brothers, Joseph and Trevor, and their mother Ann, are doing their best to make us feel at home. They even provide Internet and British television ! There's even a spot to safely park our motorcycle right in front of the door. Joseph is the best source of information when it comes to choosing a good restaurant or a specific service in town, we wouldn't go shopping without asking him first what the right prices should be because he knows the region and the people since so many years. Joseph even walked us around the mountains yesterday ! They're all a very lovely family with whom we enjoy spending time and having conversations. We're enjoying a great time here thanks to their kind welcome and their superb riad..
I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone.

Hotel CTM, Djemma el Fnaa, Marrakesh. Around 10 euros a night, with breakfast. Rooftop for viewing the square at night. Covered parking in place next door. Basic, and just fine.

The Youth Hostel, Marrakesh. Dormitory accommodation. I forget how much. Park the bike inside the gated grounds. Near the main rail station.

Hotel des Remparts, Essaouira. Park your bike inside. 8-10 euros. Rooftop view over the Atlantic. Basic.

PS I wish people would give at least an approximate price, if they can remember, for the places they mention. Your "cheap" is maybe not another's "cheap".

Chefchouan: Camp Azilan, N35.10.644, W005.16.222. Basic camping walking distance from the very cute village of Chefchouan.

Fes: Diamant Vert, Diamant vert, Dir 165/night, N33.59.233, W005.01.096. Nice camping outside Fes. Has good showers and toilets.

Salé (Rabat): Camping de la Plage, N34°02.135, W006°49.754. Nice location a little outside Rabat, just by the beach and a few minutes’ walk to the nice small village and medina of Salè. Cemetery is next door to the camp site but this is quickly forgotten. Ok toilets and showers.

Marrakech: Fardous Camp, N31.43.107, W007.58.986. Large camp site which looks more like a parking lot. Good showers and toilets. Provides shuttle service into the square for Dir 80 both ways per car.
