Anyone know of a good place to stay between Bamako and Timbuktu?

There are a few of us want to meet up for Christmas. Then New Year in Timbuktu and on to Festival au Desert in January.

Yeah mate I have been told to head near Sanga, appently is good, we are in Nouachott, senegal next, going to be relaxing at Saint Louis for a few days,

Where are you now?

I made it into Bamako yesterday and plan to spend about 1 week here. Currently in Heremekano camping, but plan to check out Le Cactus tomorrow.

in Segou a good place we stayed at was Motel Sahara - otherwise Mopti is a lively place to stop over for a few days.

Hey Moose, we are in Conakry, Guinea, going to Sierra Leone tomo then up to Bamako, in about 10 days I reakon, then Mopti, timbuctoo, then South to Bukina Faso, reakon we will meet up soon by the sounds of it, email me directly might be easier
