Hi Amzah
That is a very generous offer. We might take you up on that. We are currently in Malaysia on 2 bicycles, and may well come past Perak. Not entirely sure about our route yet, but might be in the area in a month or so. Cheers |
Roger that. Please keep me inform.

Malaysia visit
Hi Amzah, I'm currently in KL and will be heading slightly north in your direction in a few days. I’m traveling around the world on a BMW R80G/S and hope to get it cleared through customs tomorrow. It’s in a container in Port Klang at the moment, coming from Buenos Aires. Is your offer of accommodation still open? Would it be convenient to drop by for a day or two? I’d be very interested in staying with a local family for a day or two. Best regards, Kevin |
Hi Amzah
I am in Phuket and heading to Mal for soem riding before flying home from KL. I would love to use your place as a base to ride from, is that possible please? I am heading to the border tomorrow(if all goes well with the bike) and cross over on wednesday morning. I am humping all my camping gear and it would be so nice to unload it until it needs moving to the airport. and of course Kevin, maybe we could meet for a beer? Cheers TravellingStrom |
Hi!,
Mighty glad to have both of you in my rented house in Batu Gajah, Perak Malaysia. Please contact me on my cell phone 0193854736. I will be engaged in lecturing on every Tuesday (whole day). Other days I am free doing my own thing. No worry. Hope to hear from you. Amzah :welcome: PS - Kevin, Im preparing for Canada and Alaska ride this Summer, would be nice to get some local advise. |
Brilliant, and thanks for the offer
I have been to Canada and done the Alaska to Tierra del Fuego, so I might have a few useful items to share as well :) Cheers TS |
I live in BC and just rode down to Ushuaia, so yeah, we can share lots of data.

Well, I am currently situated in this very nice flat and have cold beers in the fridge as well as food. And what a bonus, I managed to wash my clothes ;)
Cheers Amzah and nice to meet you. TravellingStrom |
Thanks Amzah once again. I arrived safely in KL, the bike is cleaned and detailed, it looks schmick!!!
I enjoyed my time in Batu Gajah as it was agreat base t do some loop rides. The Cameron Highlands was brilliant and as well riding with you and showing you the Geocaching ropes, we might have a convert. I appreciate the use of the flat and hope to repay you and other riders one day once I am settled back home again. Cheers TravellingStrom |
You welcome! The least I could do. There are few lesson learnt to better equip the little shelter for travelling bikers.
Safe journey to your next destination. See you again. Amzah:clap: |
Sure will AmZah. I left your keys with Alex  I also left a spare fuel screen I had with me but no longer need now I am going to be where there is clean fuel.
This screen is the low pressure fuel filter(called a strainer) that sits inside the fuel pump on the Vstrom. If your bike starts to splutter and fart when the fuel level is low, this will most likely fix it :) Cheers TS |
