Chile, Valparaiso - Hostal
Hi,
Its now looking like we will probably hit Santiago by Xmas and Valpariso by New Year, and as we will probably need to try and book ahead for some accommodation, does anyone have any good recomendations (double matrimonial type room with banos and pref kitchen facilities rather than dorm type accommodation). Any info muchos appreciated! Thanks Mike |
valparaiso
Dear Mike,
For Valparaiso you can contact Enzo & Martina from hostel Villa Kunterbunt. It´s a special place and very friendly people. I´m staying there now and they´re helping me clearing my bike from customs and there are some other bikers at the moment as well. They have secure parking! They speak spanish (chilean style..), english and german. I don´t know how many double rooms they have, but you can ask. I think they only have with shared bathrooms. But they have a great rooftop private room with double bed and amazing views! You can contact them at enzo & martina tesser avenida quebrada verde 192 playa ancha, valparaiso, chile phone:0056-32-2288873 email: villakunterbuntvalpo@yahoo.de Good luck and already a merry x-mas and happy new year.. Safe travels. Gerbie. |
Many thanks!
I´ve sent them an email. Cheers |
recent experience in Valpo??
We'll be arriving in Valpo in a few days and our bikes soon after that. Has anyone stayed there recently that can recommend somewhere?
Is Villa Kunterbunt still a good biker friendly place to stay? cheers |
we arrived in villakuntabunt. it was full. martina and enzo arranged us to stay at their neighbour's hostel at a special price. they arranged our bikes to park at another neighbour's compound. they allow us to use the facilities in villa kuntabunt thou we are not staying there.
i must say that matina and enzo are very biker friendly person. they know that we are traveling on bike and know what we want. they gave us many many things. if u want to see good people along your bike trip, this is the place! thank you martina and enzo! |

New pieces of information about the Villa:
we stayed at the place for three days, will leave tomorrow. the price is 11'000 Chil.Pesos /Pers/Night, okay but not cheap I think. They're a really nice and funny, helpfull and hospital couple - Actually they are no hostel anymore, nevertheless they received us anyway. No breakfest or any food included, there's an Asado place in the yard. Use it as starting point and then head south or north and enjoy the ride!! .k.:taz: |

I'm staying here right now along with other bikers. Prices are 11,000 CLP shared, 15,000 CLP private rooms. Its also worth mentioning that as well as shipping services, they have a small selection of new and used tyres on offer. |
In Valparaiso we stayed with Enzo & Martina from Hostel Villa Kunterbunt.
Enzo helped clear our bikes through the maze that is Chilean Customs. Everything worked well with his help. They speak English and German and of course, Spanish. They only take motorcycle riders and their bikes. Anna and I found a really nice place exactly halfway between Valparaiso and Vina del mar.
La Puertovista CL Its a large house on the top of Cerro Esperanza with an amazing view of the bay. They only have 3 rooms so its very quiet. Big rooms, lots od light, extremely clean environment, small swimming pool Parking for many bikes and/or 3 cars. They dont have a reception so you just find them on Facebook and ask them if they have room for you. The owners are very nice. We planned to stay for one night but ended up staying for 9 days. We did not want to leave. Very nice place to relax. If traveling with your SO you will love this place. Our favourite accomodation in South America by far. |
