alternative for language students, Spanish school Sakribal http://www.sakribal.com/ has family accomodation with parking (acc. included in school fee)


Panajachel - Lago Atitlan.

Campana Camping, run by an American. 35 Q per person, pretty safe. 1 km out of town but walking distance. Unf. the owner treats his dogs very bad, even the street dogs have a better life. Bring some food or u autom. will share ur own.

Lanquin

fairly secure

Tikal

Camping in Tikal is ok,
3 guards play cars all day and night, ok secure, ask at the restaurant to park the bikes beside or behind the restaurant.
35 Q per person

El Remate seems a better choice for sleeping nevertheless I would use the campground or restaurant for parking, not the parking lot

Poptun

Finca Ixobel is a great choice
camping an d cabanas
1 km south of village
seems very safe there

Chiquimula (close to border crossing to Copan)

Hotel Palmeras in Calle 10
cost 35 Quetzales per person
safe parking in Hotel Garage
some rooms are a little smelly, some are quite good. the roof terasse could be good for camping, owners very friendly
