Iran - Tabriz

Hotel Morvarid, Imam Khomeini Ave., on a big roundabout. More visible is the entrance gate to another, bigger and posher hotel next door.

10/18 Euro, breakfast about 2.5 Euro, really hot water, bike parks in the lounge.

The hotel next door is more modern and has an underground garage, roughly twice the price.

Bewdy, that's me.

Where are you now? I'm in Yadz at the moment leaving for Esfahan in the morning (12 Nov). Staying with friends of friends. If we hook up in time I'm sure I could score you a bed and a tour (and they drink beer!). I'll check the net in the morning before I set off.

I'm staying at the Silk Road in Yadz. Highly recommended - wonderful ambience, in the old city, with bike parking inside (tricky park but secure). Missed Kenneth by a day - the theft of his helmet is the talk of the district!

Cheers Brett

You're making me envious, can't you pretend it's not much fun...

The helmet sounds like a bit of a useless acquisition for the thief, then, unless it's taken out of the area. [Police are currently searching for a moped rider wearing a helmet...]

A shame, it's not typical of Iranian hospitality, is it.

Hi Stephan,

Yeah, ah, terrible time.

Bunch of rough young kids around the place. I've deputised them and put them on the payroll. Bike's never been safer. They're beating up adults going over to have a look at the bike. Great viewing.

The stolen helmet didn't really have much to with "Iranians"...the kids are 5-10 years old. Reckon I might've pinched a helmet at that age...

Cheers
Brett

Can agree Hotel Morvarid, Imam Khomeini Ave is fine - really good showers. Bike in Hotel just - had to lift back end as the ramp too short for Honda VFR750 (PRExpressions)

Dec 2007 I am paying 14 dollar a night (no breakfast, no internet) but clean small room, with a fridge, great shower, very hot radiator and friendly helpful management also included two free earth tremours (updated 4 free earth tremours) but toilet paper extra!
