Hi Christian

I am in the process of getting my bike back to England.
I am using Sandra at Dakar who in turn ships bikes with British Airways. It seems it is going to cost up to US$2,000.

Prices have certainly risen since I arrived in BsAs back in January.

You are in for a great few months.

If you need anything just ask

cheers
Delb

I am afraid I am travelling East. I would love to be coming back to Ushuaia for a beer but just isn't going to happen.

Enjoy Christmas down there!

Gino & Fiona

Sounds like a date!

Where will you be staying when you arrive and are you shipping a bike in at the same time?

Let me know if there is anything I can do prior to your arrival

Cheers

Delb, Still in BA next Monday 19th? Still thirty? :-)

Looking for somewhere to stay handy for the airport / see the city for a day.

Merv.

Delbert 17 Nov 2012 11:53

Merv

Yes still here but I haven't been 30 for some years - still thirsty though!

I don't know about accom near airport (it is quite a way out of town) but I can make some enquiries - are you waiting for your bike to arrive?

How long are you in town for? Happy to show you around the bits I know.

Are you staying at Dakar ???

You won't be short of drinking and partying partners if you're staying there.

Rondelli 17 Nov 2012 18:14

Delbert
Staying at Dakar motos untill we get the bikes out of Customs (and a few days after) , arrive 26th, hopefully bikes 27th then after some beer and finding our feet heading for Viedima

Sandra has me booked to take my bike to the airport on the 28th to start the shipping "out" process.

If you are coming in to town one day, let me know and I will happily meet you for beer.

Safe travels

Delbert you old codger, glad you seem to have had a great tour of SA. We walked around BA at the beginning of your tour. Dave

Mervifwdc 23 Nov 2012 14:03

Just checking in, not staying at Dakar motors and my liver is still happy! We did visit them, and they are great people! Will be in ba until we catch a bus back to our truck on Sunday.

Delbert 25 Nov 2012 12:45

It's the Judge!

How the devil are you?

It seems a lifetime ago that we toured BsAs together and you imparted knowledge and maps. The political scene is building up a head of steam here now though). I have been doing the same thing, in reverse, this time around. It is a great feeling to have finished what was a wonderful tour but a bit sad that it is over.

Do you have plans to come back down here or is life too good back in the USA?

Cheers
Delb

Delbert, now at Dakar Motos, hopefully liberating bikes tomorrow, maybe beer Wed afternoon?
Gino & Fiona

checkerdd 27 Nov 2012 05:31

Delbert. I am going to more permanently retire in 2014 and fly and ferry from Korea to Russia and then ride to Europe. I figure the same 800 GS can get me there. Dave

Delbert 27 Nov 2012 15:30

G&F

I will be at the airport at 10:30 but I just don't know how long it will take to do the paperwork - minimum 2 hours but could be so much longer!

I think it may be better to make it Thursday if you are still around
