Anyone selling his bike in Buenos Aires?
I have been travelling through SA and went back to Germany to stock up my money. I plan to come back this Spring (April or Mai).
My brother wants to come along too but he needs a bike. Is there any traveller who plans to sell his bike in BA? Patrick --- http://www.weltreisebuch.de |
Hey Patrick!
I know about a bike in Buenos Aires, but i don't know if it's ready to sell yet :-) See you next weekend and we can talk about that!! |
Hey Guys,
Why not rent a bike from Pollo? Doesn't he have that KLR there? Hope you are both well! rene |
Hi Patrick,
I might be tempted to sell mine & the timing is about right. I have *no idea* what paperwork would be needed to sell an English bike to a German in Argentina.....probably lots. ------------------ Last seen in S.America, missing presumed fed. http://www.smellybiker.com |
Bob, you serious? Are you selling it to get something suitable for riding two up? http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hi Bob
Just seen Rene's post. I have an expedition equipped R1100GS, only lightly crashed (well, the ones you saw anyway!) which I might be interested in swapping for the Dakar. Drop me an e mail. Regards, Mick |

May be you can do it in a less complicated way in Paraguay? i think you can do allmost anything there(for the best price) KH |
I have a confession to make, I bought a truck.
....I'll go get my coat. ------------------ Last seen in S.America, missing presumed fed. http://www.smellybiker.com |
Bob
Do I feel some shame on your expression? Tell us a bit more......what truck.A Hummer or a Samurai? CU in Viedma? Saludos KH |
Yes, there's some shame there and switching from a bike to a truck was done with a heavy heart.
The truck is a 2.4 litre 4x4 Nissan Fiera with a single cabin. Big enough to convert into an overlander and tough enough for hard roads (I hope). I'm going to miss wearing all the protective gear in hot weather, the 'splat' of bugs hitting my visor and getting sand in every crevice when I fall off. I'm not going to miss my smelly enduro boots at all and it will be harder to fall off a truck.......again. I hope to be in Viedma, if the registration papers come back from Lima in time. ------------------ Last seen in S.America, missing presumed fed. http://www.smellybiker.com [This message has been edited by Happy Hacker (edited 29 November 2005).] |

Nothing to shame on...this is only a next step of the process.Do not sell your gear. You will be using it sooner or later. Remember a wounded soldier is usefull for the next war(so to speak hahahahahah) So you are owner of a nice truck, that means you decided to stay longer in our region. Mmmmmmm KH |
i am headed south towards chile on a 2005 dakar that i plan to sell around late january. i was lpanning on selling it in santiago, but if there is more of a market in BA, then is gives me an excuse to go there instead.

Onkle Karle,
Sorry if I'm piggy backing on your thread, but me and Kate are heading for Santiago in May (ETA 15th) and will be looking for a couple of bikes. Not toooo expensive and relativly simple paperwork would be great. We have only 8 weeks in SA but would prefer to own the bikes we are going to ride. Bob, enjoy the truck - you'll be back in the fold sooner or later.. Great day to be out on the bike... Jens |
Hola,
thanks for all the replies. I talked to Marco last weekend and it looks like my brother will ride Marcos Barbie for a little while... ;-) @Bob: I heared the good thing about a truck is anyway that you can put a bike on it ;-) I hope your shoulder is in a better shape then it looked on the scary pictures! @everybody: Merry Christmas!, Frohe Weihnachten!, Feliz Navidad!, Счастливого Рождества! |
