Are visa's required for South America ???
Were 2 guys from the Uk who are going to travel accross South America. Venezuela to Argentina and back again. We hope to visit every country in-between are are wondering what visas, if any , are required.
We heard that we can just get along with our U.K. Passports and will not need to get seperate visas or a carnet. cheers in advance |
Hola,
Yep thats the case, I'm about to leave the UK myself in two weeks to do the same. Cheers Nik |
the only visa I needed in two years in south america was for suriname. got it in french guyana for 28 euros.

Don't know about the rest of the world, but for U.S. citizens Brazil requires you have a visa to enter. Found this out when checking countries for my trip next year.

last time we went to venezula (uk citizens) we needed visas beforehand and got them from embassy in london. travelled brazil, bolivia, peru, ecuador, chile, argentina, colombia, ecuador - no visas needed there as at sept 2005.
you shd really do check for each country before you go though julia |
Hello,
you are right, you won`t need a visa and neither a Carnet for your bike. We had one, since we did not know, butr it was not requested (only once and we just did as e would not understand what he wanted so he let us through without carnet. So no problem at all! Have a nice trip burnout1 |
