Australians getting Visa for Brazil at puerto iguazu
Soon be back in South America and the plan was to drive to the Argentinian side of the falls, then apply for a Brazil visa at the consulate in Puerto Iguazu and cross over to Brazil and then continue north from there.
I did ask the Brazil Embassy in Australia whether I could get a visa in Iguazu but the answer was somewhat unhelpful. I see recently the claim that US citizens could not obtain the Brazil visa there, so wonder what the situation is for Australians. Or would it be safer to get it in Buenos aries. |
Ah, OK. Thanks. I didn't realise the Australian Embassy issued Brazil visas from their office in Buenos Aries.

Australians getting Visa for Brazil at puerto iguazu
I am Canadian. I was in Iguacu in April of this year and was able to apply for and received a 5 year visitor Visa from the Brazilian consulate there. In one day. There were Americans there doing the same. Although not 100% sure, I expect you will also be able to. I am not aware if something has changed since then.
