BA to el boson
hi people.
Im about to pick up a bike in BA and meet some friends over in el boson (maybe spelt el bolson). Anyone have any suggestions for a route and places to see and stay along the way. Im guessing about 3 days of riding to get there. Gps says about 1600km. Cheers -andy |
If you want a quick route....
Take RN5 west out of BA to Santa Rosa Take RN35 south out of Santa Rosa to Padre Buodo Take RN152 west out of Padre Buodo to Chelforo Take RN22 west out of Chelforo intersection of RN22 and RN237 At the intersection of RN22 and RN237 take RN237 San Carlos de Bariloche Take RN158 south out of San Carlos de Bariloche to El Bolson Around 1700km from BA to El Bolson. As an alt. route visit San Martin de Los Andes. |
I did it 3 years ago. Took me two days. First night near the Colorado river. Second night south of Neuquen, a touristic small village with a lake.
I recommend staying at quemquem campground in El Bolson. No need to pitch your tent, there is a big hut where you can sleep for the same price, and Dicky Harvey is a very entertaining manager. There is a crossing south of Santa Rosa, take the Northmost less travelled road across some hilly area, it s just beautiful. In El Bolson, 42 parallel south, prices of gas are 50% off. |
thanks guys!

Hey Vorteks
just a question about "There is a crossing south of Santa Rosa, take the Northmost less travelled road across some hilly area, it s just beautiful." i was looking on a map and i cant quite understand exactly what you mean. Can you give me some more detailed turn by turn directions. Would really appreciate this as what you describe sounds really nice! Thank you both. leaving tomorrow morning! |
Crossing between 154 and 30 , take the 30 westwards.
South of Neuquen, rest in Piedra de Aquila |
