I asked a similar question the other day. I reckon I'm going to go with Nationwide. Cheers |
Bank
Nationwide is the one, they will not rip you off on exchange rate and do not charge. This means you can draw a small amount at any time(Safer) without worrying about costs. There are plenty of ATMs about.Just plan a bit ahead and make sure you have enough dollars or fuel when entering a country with different currency untill you get to nearest town with ATM.Saves risking taking dodgy money at border.Write down all the rates to the dollar for every country, in your little book before you go.So if you have to change at border you know roughly what you should get, give or take a few Pesos.
Have fun ! |
banking
Your home bank in the UK may not charge you any fees but remember that on this side of the pond there usually is a small fee charged over and above what your own bank may ask. This money goes to the bank or company which owns the banking machine that you are using to access your home account. They will display a question on screen asking if you agree to this extra charge and if you answer NO the transaction will terminate , no cash.
