Suggest you contact the air line ... they will have the final say. Oh ... if they say Yes - get it in writing .. or at lest the name of the person .. so if checkin queries it you have some contact.
See http://www.iata.org/nr/contentconnec...nglish2005.pdf for a list .. but not comprehensive You may find a lot more here .. but it is a big pdf. http://www.iata.org/nr/rdonlyres/386...reso_804en.pdf Page 29 (of 180) refers to dangerous goods You may get away with Wheelchairs or other battery-powered mobility devices non-spillable batteries, (see Packing Instruction 806 and Special Provision A67), as checked baggage only, provided that the battery is disconnected, the battery terminals are insulated to prevent accidental short circuits and the battery is securely attached to the wheel chair or mobility device. ---- Humm the last part .. well it is not attached so errr No. |
Thanks for the reply.
One year ago, American Airline at JKF refused to ship a tire that was packed in the origional brown shipping box. Their policy is no shipping of auto parts. When I repacked it a suitcase and did not tell them, it passed thru no problem. I know tht if I ask if it is possible to ship the battery they will say no. I'm just wondering if anyone has passed without problems before. brian |
