Best place to cross into Peru
 

I just crossed the border between Ecuador and Peru at Macara and I wanted to pass on the info for I highly recommend it. It was the easiest border crossing ever. It took me less than 20 minutes! I was even able to bribe an immigration official to swap passports. To get to Macara make sure you ask for directions periodically so you don´t end up riding through mud for six hours. There´s a paved road.

The road from there to Piura is in excellent conditions.

...the unpaved road was fantastic and not muddy now it is dry season... but I am still wondering where the real road went to....
