Hi, Yeah, get that, I'm on my 89th.
The best places to start a business (in my opinion) are Santiago, Chile or Montevideo, Uruguay.
As a biker I would recommend Chile, parts are easier to get for my bike, there are a lot of interesting rides near Santiago, and there are a lot of English speaking people to get you started, and the Spanish schools are ok.
Montevideo is better as far as taxes long term are concerned but in Chile as an expat no earnings made outside Chile are taxable for the first three years.
Am assuming you are a consultant like myself, so these things matter.
contact me if you need more information.

Rio is an amazing city bur soooo expensive.

Could you enlighten me on Ecuador? I plan on going there in March to ride and explore for a year and if I like it, plan to stay permanently.

My goal was to ship my Landcruiser and GS Adventure, what are yor thoughts?

I am not sure what more I can tell you. They have had two pretty good Presidents (not faultess by any means) but they do seem to have the BIG picture pretty well sorted. The infrastructure is good and the people seem confident of a brighter future. Their problem is increasing foreign investment in to the country but with US$ and a warm welcome I think they have a good chance, especially as Brazil is now so expensive & Argentina is being ruined by Christina. Chile looks like another decent candidate.

If you have specific question I can try to help & there is a farmer friend who is well connected and politically astute I could put you in touch with him.
