Bolivia visit concerns?

Any concerns or views on traveling thru Bolivia given the political dust up?

I see the visa cost $135 now for gingos.

Interesting NYTimes article here:

I am travelling in Bolivia at the moment and I have had no problems. I am avoiding Santa Cruz though, which is where they are having problems. I know someone who is riding to Brasil via Santa Cruz. There are road blocks, but they let him pass on his motorbike.
I am not a gringo, but people often assume I am. Only once somebody has told me to go home, other than that people have been friendly.

Drop on by!

Ì`m in La Paz and there is no difference to the other time i have been here, except for a few less foreigners. Normally with all road blocks they let motorbikes pass, but last week my brother tried from Cochabamba to Santa Cruz, and they wouldn`t let him pass. I can concur that so far it only really Santa Cruz has issues for a bike traveller, and maybe the Pando region (NW) where people were killed in conflicts and martial law declared (not permitted to carry weapons).
