brasil visa at border
 

anyone have a recent experience of having a visa done directly at border (US citizen) we will cross certainly from Argentina or paraguay.

As far as I am aware you will have to get one prior to the border crossing at a Brazillan Embassy. You also need a couple of passport photos, and enough blank pages in your book and a ~$145 dollar few IIRC.

I guess you could also go and try but I think it will save you lots of hassel to go ahead and visit an Embassy.

I guess I will have to do it it in Buenos Aeres . I heard that some people did it in Iguazu but I also heard that some other had problem to do it there.

What is your nationality? If it is French, I believe tha you do not need a visa because Brazilians do not need a visa to travel to France.
If you are American, yes, then it is necessary.
As far as I know the visa can only be obtained at embassies or consulates in advance.
