Brazil - Rio Grande to Mostardes and beyond?
 

I will be entering Brazil from Chuy in a few days and making my way to visit a friend west of Sao Paulo. Is the coastal route from Rio Grande, north through Mostardes ripio/dirt or sand? I am riding a fully loaded F650 and had my fair share of sand in Australia.
Any other recommendations of roads to ride, places to stay/see/visit along the way would be most appreciated.

The road from Rio Grande to Mostardas is called Hell Road... :censored:

But, wait, wait, just a joke, the BR-101 is not so bad as was some years ago, has only 40 km with sand, sometimes dirt/mud, in rain periods, it's hard to road, but they are constructing the asphalt, then, this paradise will disappear. :(

If you want more adventure, you can go by the coast, it'll be very good... :innocent:
