Brazil Route planning post rio
 

Hi all - I will be leaving rio about March 3. At that point I wo have 8 weeks or so remaining in South America. I've been learning Portuguese so it would be great to continue to stay in Brazil. I was thinking of going up to mineis gerais and then Bahia. I was also thkking of doing BR 230 through the Amazon to Porto Velho and spending a few weeks in Bolivia. Does anyone have recommendations for good routes up north? Could also go north to Manaus and maybe put the bike on a boat? Looking for a good adventure!

I am leaving Cusco end of this week going north to Manaus and Venezuela. I am planing to put my bike in Porto Velho on a boat to go to manaus because the Routa 219 is probably not passable. I will give you more informations as soon as i am in Manaus.

I assume that you meant 319, not 219. You wrote this 3 weeks ago. What did you find out?

Planning on going this way now, but in reverse,
