buy a bike in columbia
 

In 2012, end of march we are thinking off selling our bike F650 BMW ( from 97) in Columbia. We will probably stop our trip in Cartagena. For the moment the bike is in Uruguay .
Dos someone have experience with selling a bike in Colombia to a other foreigner?

Happens all the time. Where is the bike registered? It all depends on how the new owner can re-register the bike really. There are plenty of buyers!

The bike is from Belgium and we know that a transfert is possible in a border where there is lot off space in between so the new owner can switch plates but i wonder iff there is a other possibility ?

Well I believe the only way is if the plates stay with the bike and the new owner re-register in Belgium. I don't think any country will issue plates to a bike that's not in the country and before it has been to some kind of value /condition check and not at least the import tax paid.

But since it illegal to import used vehicles to almost all South American countries (except Paraguay I believe), then its impossible to get new plates here.
