Buying 3 AKT TTR 200 in Bogota
Hi,
I'm flying to Bogota with 2 of my friends in january and we would like to purchase the TTR 200 to travel down south. There seems to be plenty of AKT dealerships in Bogota, but if someone has a recommendation for a specific one, that would be great. Regarding the paperwork and license plates, will the dealer take care of those? Which would leave me to get SOAT and RUNT and I should be good to go? How long can I expect this to take? Thank you |
Hi Tomas
Final price includes SOAT and registration of the vehicle, your RUNT registration as person costs $ 5 USD, deliver time of motorcycles will be from 3-4 days. greetings |
Perfect, thank you.
What are the chances of selling these bikes in Peru afterwards after 6-8k km mileage? Since it will be registered in Colombia...? |
Good chance, but only to other travellers and don't expect them to keep much of their original value. But it's still far cheaper than renting.
When selling them you'll go to a notary and make the new owners power of attorney documents over the bikes. Do them a favour though, whilst in the transit office in Colombia, get three copies of the transfer documents, fill them out and sign and fingerprint them. This way when the new owners get to Colombia they simply have to go into the transit office and transfer them to their names. I'd say if you have these documents and are clear about making them poders (power of attorney documents) then the new buyers can buy them with good piece of mind that they'll get them into their names in Colombia easily. I think they're around $1800 new roughly? I'd be offering them up at $1000 a piece in Peru if I were you. Cheap rental for you, cheap bikes for them. |
Splendid, thank you very much. Do you know what are these transfer documents called in spanish so I know what to ask for?
|
hi Tomas
the names of the transfer documents in Spanish are: Formulario FUN (Formulario de solicitud de tramites...) Contrato de Compraventa Contrato de mandato and fotocopies of your passport in any case If you need help in Bogotá, just message me :D |
Yup jvlianja nailed it. And they make a good point, whilst your in the notary, get copies of your passport notarised (stamped verified copies)

Thanks for the help guys, really appreaciate it. :scooter:

I have one more question if you don't mind. After purchasing the motorcycles we need to weld some pannier racks on them and possibly other improvements (engine guard bars etc). Can anyone recommend a reliable workshop in Bogota that could help us for a reasonable price?
|
This should be the least of your worry. I had side case rack for 48 l Givi Trekker Outback done in Medellin. I had it done through the guy at scooterteam.net. The welder did an outstanding job. Still look like new after 3 years, and over 40,000 on gravel roads and I must have drop the bike a few hundred times easily.
Your best bid would be to ask the dealership to have it done for you. You may spare yourself a big headache. Personally I did rather buy in Medellin than Bogota. Among Colombians, paisas are known to be very friendly people, while Bogotanos are known to be stock acording to my wifw who is a paisa |
