buying bikes in Santiago

Hi all
I'm planning on buying two bikes (second hand) in Santiago, Chile in December 05. Could anyone give me some info about good, reliable dealers or private sales in the area.
Thanks

same thing for me but want to BUY to be able to cross border (renting would make it difficult at the borders) : a cheap 125 cc or even 175-250 cc, ok condition, reliable, to be able to drive to bolivia and peru in a month time : budget 500 usd around. time : beginning 2006.
cheers,

Sometime ago I posted the document that you need to buy a bike here in Chile. The most important is RUT (Rol Unico Tributario) that is your tax identity document, is easy to get it.

What kind of bike are you looking for?

Now here you can find a very good used Honda Varadero for a good price.

It is very easy to buy a new or used bike in Chile. All major brands are represented, most popular and best supported is Honda. In order register it under your name, you must first obtain a R.U.T. number (similar to US SSAN) from the Chilean Government. It is fairly easy to get at any Oficina de Registro Civil (http://www.registrocivil.cl).
Bike prices (new and used) are similar to those in the EU, but higher than in the US and Canada.
For used bikes look at the classifieds in www.elmercurio.com (look for the avisos economicos link).
