carnet/container,shipping/equador
I shipped my bike by container on the 22/12/04 too manta, ecuador.I shared the
container with a landcruiser, when the vehicles reached manta,we were told by customs we could not enter ecuador because we only had one bill of lading for both vehicles.(They finally allowed us in after three days of negotiations, but I am sure they will not be so helpful the next time) You must have one bill of lading for each vehicle,in each of the owners names. You do not need a carnet when entering ecuador by land, sea or air. The law was changed on 21/9/04,some of the border crossing may not be up to scratch with the new law. So if you have any problems, get them to show you their law books, and quote Articles 82/83,Decree 158/2082 and inform them when the new law came into place. Many thanks to Ricardo Rocco,(quito) along with his website around the world for peace,(good site for info & links for s.america)he had a great deal to do with the new law change. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Dell (edited 10 January 2005).] [This message has been edited by Dell (edited 11 January 2005).] [This message has been edited by Dell (edited 30 January 2005).] [This message has been edited by Dell (edited 30 January 2005).] |
Interesting what you say about bill of lading for each vehicle.
When we flew two bikes to Quito, we only had one airway bill and one dangerous goods form for both bikes and did not have any problems. |
Same here, two bikes with different owners, one airbill, no problems in Quito.
