Carnet Panama-Equador?
 

Some fellow Motorcycle travellers I meet told me, that if you fly in a motorcyle from Panama City to Quito, the Equadorians require a Carnet. Is that true?
Because I heared its not required. And as am curently travelling without one...

You do not need a carnet, but it could help. I just got back from a 7 month tour and flew from panama to quito. My buddy and I didn't have any major difficulties, but a letter from Ricardo Rocco will help (type his name into google, then get his email from his homepage). Also, do you speak spanish? I spent a good 4 or 5 hours in the office actually arguing with the officials to get the process sped up and it did help. Regards, Steve
