Carretera Austral ferry service info needed

Hello,
I am looking for a good link to ferry service for the Carretera Autral.
I'd like to head south and leave from Hornopiren. Obviously after the first ferry just south of Puerto Montt.

Does anyone have recent info and or ferry service info with a contact to make reservations? Lots of searching has led to a lot of info but nothing specific like a contact for leaving from Hornopiren south.

Best to have a booking in peak season for the ferry that runs (in two stages) from Rio Negra. Booking office is across the road from the loading ramp but sorry, don't remember a name but could it be Navimag ferries.. We made the booking one day and sailed the next day and overnighted right next to the ferry ramp at GPS: -41.971180, -72.471730

there is another place nearby -41.969821, -72.472822 which is a restaurant with camping. Both places on iOverlander

Barcos-Barcazas-Ferries Hornopiren Caleta Gonzalo Leptepu Fiordo Largo is probably the one - booking details at bottom - Spanish

Google Translate in english

The Puerto Yungay Ferry way down south is a first come first on free ferry

High season ( starts in Jan) there are 2 per day from Hornopiren

We stayed overnight and got the early boat, 2nd Jan this year.

It's Navimag - they have a booking office in Puerto Montt. Best to book ahead Jan-Feb

I'm now changing the route to go through Chiloe and want to book from Chiloe to Chaiten.

I found Naviera Austral Naviera Austral ferry service who offer a route from Chiloe to Chaiten but there online booking service will simply not work.
Has anyone used this company before?

Navimag has no route for this crossing. Any other suggestions?

I've recently taken the ferry from Hornopiren to Caleta Gonzalo (direct) and from Chaiten to Puerto Montt. The later was busy and you must book before since it only runs every two days. The former, you can just turn up and get a ticket on the day.

Can't help with Chiloe though.

I'm not sure if this is still useful. At the Puerto Montt offices yesterday, Naviera Austral said they currently (Jan+Feb'16) sail Quellon to Chaiten 2x a week, usually Sunday at 6pm and Thurs at 3am. Booking advised but there was space on the next sailing.

NavAust also sail Quellon to Puerto Cisnes departing Saturdays 5pm and Tuesday (7pm?). The next couple of sailings were currently officially full for vehicles, including motorcycles.

I noticed from their website schedules for both routes can vary eg 2nd week each month, so take this just as a guide.

There are more options for sailings, Naviera Austral go to Chaiten, Navimag go to Puerta Chacabuco (nr Port Aysan) but these sail from Puerto Montt.

A fellow Hubber in Puerto Montt? I'm stuck here for a few more days.

Shipping motorcycles from Miami to Central and South America

Hi everyone,

I've seen some old posts where people mentioned Patricia Cadena with BDP as a good contact for shipping motorcycles from Miami. She moved now and her email is patricia.cadena@cxp-usa.com. She is the one to ship motocycles!!

Hi, I rode the CA in January and didn't precook any ferries. It was never a problem, just turn up, wait in the queue and they get you on board. The only issue is timing, the ferry right at the end, just before Villa OHiggins leaves at 10, 12 and 18. If you miss the early ones you will be riding in the dark into VOH. Not a big deal but with road works and other delays you might get there very late
