Central America or back down South America
 

We are currently in Peru heading north to Colombia.
We have had some delays and realise our plan to get to LA in our time frame will mean whizzing through Central America maybe not doing it justice also the cost of shipping across the Darien gap has made us think whether we should stay in South America and do the northern countries and Brazil then ship back from Rio or BsAs.
What are peoples experiences of these countries and are they in preference to Central America?
