Crash in peru, a place to stay in Lima

Hey guys, yesterday i had a crash in northern peru near chachapoyas. i have now got the bike on a truck to Lima which gets in on friday night, and i have a bus which gets in on saturday morning, would anyone have a place to stay in lima while i wait for parts, or try and fix the bike.

We stayed in a place called Budget Backpackers Hostel (or similar) in Miraflores, sorry can't remember full name but had big red wall around it with an electric fence and was 'very' secure and good place to play with bikes. Was near Bolognesi Street I think.

Yeah guys I am good.

Canoeguy..
certainly a KLR would be easier to put back together!! damn electrics! Was that yours i saw at Casa Kiwi in Colombia? Some nice mods.. liked the tool box

Garry..
Yeah helmet is good! waited too long for that baby to damage her! head never touched the ground. Even when i came to an abrupt stop against the bike! Neck muscles are a bit strained though!

Getting on a bus soon to Lima, so should arrive sometime saturday morning.. Then lets try get this bike back on the road.... Unfortunatly it wasnt like that Chevy that Al hit..

Will you two SHUT UP about that Chevy?! That guy might be reading Horizons as we speak...!

Kev - so sorry to hear about the "accident". BMW will be touched that you are covering for yet another electrical fault by pretending you had an off. Of course, if you'd been riding a hair-drier...

Hope you're back on the road soon,

All the best,

Al

I never mentioned a Chevy. I don't tell anybody about Buells attacking Chevys. I have noticed since the incident with the Chevy that they all pull over and let bikes go by. Lloyd may get a Chevy soon so will probably be the exception.
Kev. once you know the cost of parts in Peru it may be worth checking prices in the States and flying up there to pick them up. This way you won't have to pay for shipping or import costs and won't have to wait around for the parts.

raiderfan 17 Nov 2007 15:37

Or there is a Buell dealer in Lima... :mchappy:

Irishkev 17 Nov 2007 19:34

Guys thinks are looking up!

Bike is in the garage and I am ok. Have got a Sensor on order from the States, so will be here a few days waiting for it. But can think of worse places to be!!

As for Chevys.. ummm what was that again..,
Hey Al did you get that bike shipped yet or is it still around BA?

albert crutcher 17 Nov 2007 21:34

It's on a boat in the South Atlantic as we speak...or at least I hope so! Enjoying BsAs with Lisa, and a week in Iguazu to come: travelling by plane!

Good to hear all is well. At the rate you're going you should be in Ushuaia by the end of the decade...

Stay well

Al
