oh
Just read your blog on the subject. Sounds like an adventure!!
Is the pass really that dangerous (talking about the bandits..)? Most of my questions answered except where or how you stashed the bike.. Cheers BRuce |
bloke
there's a bloke there will look after your bike for a princely s/. 5. easy way. two minute walk to bridge after which you can't ride any further.
trip in: left prob midday from cusco, got to santa teresa about 1930, after dark and a pretty bloody *challenging* last bit from sta maria to sta teresa. oh, as you read. bit of fun. oops might have scared them a bit with the overtake but hey a man's gotta do... anyhow leave earlier in the day than that. the pass over abra malaga a bewdy for wearing out tyre edges. with the normal range of rocks and oil spills of course. anyhow bandit story bullspit i reck but added spice to the journey. although have since done another trip where the locals were very serious about bandits, to the opint of ringing the cops so we would not be held up. that was from huanuco towards huaraz via la union. will post the warning. cheers. heading south soon so email me at andy_longmire(a)yahoo.com.au if any chance of having a beer... cheers andy. |
Try another HUBB post
Blokes, because this post title is about the Inca trail, you´ll find much more info about riding to Aguas Caliente or Hydraelektrika on this post:
http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...u-picchu-22090 Wicksy and i both forgot to mention that the advantage of parking yout bike with the Lopez´s is that they also have a few rooms they rent out as a guesthouse, so you could sleep there one night to probably for a total of 15 pesos. I also borrowed a small backpack from Estefan for the hike. |
Thanks.
So, around 7 and a half hours then. That corresponds roughly to to the minivan time too.. I hope to try tomorrow though I haven´t prepared for it yet. I will REALLY try to leave before midday though.. A beer sounds good. I am way behind my schedule which doesn´t exist so I am trying to push things on a bit. My plan is to head down to Nasca and of towards Lima by the weekend but plans are only plans.. Cheers Bruce |
