Our NUMBER ONE TIP for shipping parts to anywhere "remote" - used very loosely - is to check what courier companies have offices in the town YOU ARE IN, and talk to them about bringing stuff in, and make sure they know who you are, where you're staying etc. Make friends.
If it sounds good, ship by THAT COMPANY FROM THE BEGINNING. i.e. if there is a DHL office, ship by DHL. If you don't, there will be a hand off either to DHL or to a small local company who may or may not get around to that small town anytime soon, and they have no idea who or where you are etc. - and won't try very hard. That's why I wanted to use DHL throughout ( and contacted their staff in BA beforehand ) as they have an office in my hometown in France.

I had a small package sent to me in Asuncion which never got to me ( using the national posts on both ends ). All I know is that it arrived in Paraguay.
I learnt the hard way :(
