Expired bike papers in Argentina
I may not be able to return to Argentina to continue my Adventure before the motorcycle import papers expire. Has anyone had to get their bike out of Argentina after the customs paperwork expired, and if so, what was the consequences. Thanks,
:oops2: |
I have no experience in Argentina, but in Bolivia I did manage to extend up to 12 months. I advice you to visit the customs and explain them the situation. If you have bike trouble, let them see the workshop bills or let the workshop write a note explaining them you are delayed.

Thanks Mailman
Unfortunately, I'm in the US and the bike is in Argentina so I can't go to customs. I left Argentina to take a short job and replish my funds, but the work just keeps on going. It looks like I'm just gonna have to leave the job early and return.
I was thinking it would only result in a fine but after reading Xfiliates post I realized it could be a much bigger problem. Looks like I'll fly down and ride across the Urugray border for a day and return to Argentina with another 8 month permit. |
Or leave it in Uruguay for a year?
