Hi,
Is there still a ferry from Brasil to Guyana and then any toward Venezuela |
There is no connection between Guyana and Venezuela. The route is following in either direction:
Venezuela - Brazil - Guayana - Suriname - French Guiana - Brazil Adventurous greetings, Coen |

Thanks for the reply , I will be in Belem by January and since shipping the bike from brasil is very $$ and a pain in ... I may elec to ride from Belem >french Guyana>Surinam> Guyana>Venezuella , I was trying to bypass some country as I know it maybe rainy season at this time. an other option could be Belem to Manaus by boat and then Road 319 to Venezuela
Did any of you did any of these road Thanks |
I would highly recommend taking a boat from Belem to Macapa Brazil, then ride to Oiapoque Brazil, French Guiana, Suriname, Guyana, back into Brazil, then into Venezuela. Its one of the more culturally unique and interesting areas of South America IMO, and very few riders take that route.
Shipping could be a bit problematic out of Venezuela, but if you run into trouble doing that, Colombia is right next door. Buen viaje. |

to the US (miami) , if the ride and season are no so bad I will love to ship it from Colombia but if he road are flooded and this turn to a nightmare I will settle on shipping from Brasil. I drive dl650 so not exactly a dirt bike.
Thanks |
The only issue you could possibly have is on a short 100 km section of BR-156 from Oiapoque to Macapa. I rode that after weeks of heavy rain and although there were muddy sections, it wasnt a problem and I was on a heavily loaded KTM 990. Also, the Linden - Lethem road in Guyana was actually in pretty good shape despite heavy rains.
With heavy rains in Venezuela and Colombia the Berlin pass between Cucuta and Bucaramanga was closed for landslides for a while, but there are usually plenty of options around road closures. |

did you go to surinam or just across brasil to venezuela , I was thinking the road from manaus will be a more direct road but always curious to hear others opinion.
Thanks |
There is a fairly good established commerce line between Suriname and Miami. Containers shouldn't be a problem. Maybe even a banana barge? Let met check with a friend who just shipped 12 cars from the Netherlands to Suriname by RoRo [which I didn't knew you could].

I went from Brasil, to French Guiana, to Suriname, to Guyana, then back into Brasil and up to Venezuela at Santa Elena.

Thanks a lot guys , your help is very important as I am looking at which way to go back after my ride in Brasil and having more than one option is always a plus for me.
