Heidenau K60 in Brazil?
 

I am in need of a set Heidenau K60 for my bike in Brazil. I have done a preliminary web search and have come up with nothing. If anyone knows where I might find a set for a Triumph Tiger 800XC please let me know. The last set I found in Santiago, Chile, but five months of Patagonia, Argentina and Uruguay have nearly done them in.

No idea about Heidenau in Brazil, but as a matter of interest to ALL on HUBB, maybe you could post up what tires ARE available in Brazil, and prices?

I'm sure there are lots of bikes shops and I'm guessing you've called around to all of them. My question is ... what tires DO they stock beyond tires for 125's and scooters?

I've heard of guys finding "Big Bike" tires there at BMW dealers. No idea how long it took or if shops there actually have tires IN STOCK. Or must everything be ordered ?... and how long a wait?

Most know Pirelli have a huge factory in Brazil, yet prices I hear for Pirelli are more expensive in Brazil than other places. (taxes?) Mostly the MT60 seems most available outside Brazil.

Since Pirelli own Metzeler ... perhaps Metzeler's are available there? The Tourance is not quite as dirt road friendly as Heidenau but certainly a tough, long lasting tire. Or maybe Pirelli rally tire is for sale there?

Seems little is known about CURRENT availability in Brazil and current prices.
Hope you have time to post up what you find out if you are "on the ground" there in Brazil.

I am in Urubici, SC, Brazil. I am have been staying at a hotel here and the Rotax Moto Clube is having a big meeting and ride. I have been riding with 150 to 200 large bikes this weekend. It will be easy to get tires for the bike in any city of a population of 100,000 or more. I have been traveling in the Americas for three years and in Latin America for over two. My bike has over 89,000 km and I have done all with four sets of the Heidenau K60. I have asked a few Brazilians about this tire and they have never heard of them. Every major worldwide brand of moto tire is available. With the strength of the US Dollar and the weakness of the Brazilian Real...tires will not be expensive for an American.

Exchange rates and local manufacture notwithstanding, tires and other bike parts in Brazil are more expensive than almost anywhere I've been in the world. On the other hand, stuff is generally available--big tires, high-quality chains, etc. If money's an issue, head for any border and you'll probably do better.

I don't know about the K60, but I'd be doubtful. When I needed tires (twice in Brazil) I made do with Pirellis, and they cost twice what I'd paid elsewhere. Outside of the major cities I found availability good but selection limited, with some 2-day waits while stuff got shipped in by bus. That's life.

Fortunately, Brazilians are ridiculously friendly and welcoming. I kept staying everyplace longer than I'd planned, just because.

Thanks Mark...I am headed for Iguazu Falls there I will have Argentina and Paraguay. Money is not a problem, but a good price is always welcome.

If you're headed for Iguazu, Ciudad del Este is the place. Lots of hustle and con, so keep your wits about you. For Argentina, bring US dollars.

You won't get Heidenau in Brasil.

Your best option is to got to Curitiba and get to Jarva Racing, they are the importers for Mitas E 07, a nicer tire to ride than the Heidy but don't last as long.

I love the E 07 tho, next option is Uruguay at $400 for a rear.

Thanks Kiwis, I have a friend Jeffrey Panaha, Heidenau is one of his sponsors, and he messaged me that are no dealers in Brazil. I am not married to Heidenau...so the Mitas E 07 sounds good to me. I am headed away from Curitiba now...headed to Iguazu Falls. I will surely find something suitable there.

Punto Del Este has SHITLOADS of little bike stuff but not much big bike stuff but if you go over the bridge from Brasil side there is a tire shop on the left hand side, you will leave the busy busy shantytown shops and it is as you start heading up the hill....we walked across, I think it might be 1 - 1.5 km up, has a big glass front.

Plenty of small moto shops also one or two blocks over to the right parallel with the main drag.

I don't know if you have used the E07 but I reckon they are a far nicer tire than the Heidy, much better traction and way smoother, just not and long wearing....I hate the E 07 front, well manoured on the tar but bloody awful on anything less....just my opinion.

If you get stuck we have good friends in Cascaval, you could easily get E07s sent from Jarva racing.

Ask specifically for Alberto, tell him Andi Delius of TMK sent you there, (he shouldn't hit you :innocent:) he is the shop manage and a bloody good guy, he will go out of his way for you, we did a presentation for them so he knows us well.

Punta del Este (not "Punto") is in Uruguay. Cuidad del Este is in Paraguay. Very different places.

I caught that...When I said my friend told me there no Heidy dealers in Brazil...he is Jeffery Poilnaja.
