Highway from Manaus to Puerto Velho

Can anyone give me some information on the highway from Manaus to Puerto Velho? What is the condition? Are there any services? Is it feasible on an R1100GS?

boat only via terrain...bike, 4x4, whatever, the road was paved in the 80s but ain~t there no more...brasil is wonderful.
