hey pocket head

you can try Adventure Rider Motorcycle Forum they have a good busy flea market for bikes, i got mine from there ,you may even be able to line up a travel ready one down there as its close to mexico ,there web site is a lot busier than this one and US based ,there are always KLR 's on there ,if you are buying a bike down in south america with US plates .make sure they can supply you with a transferred title in your name or you will be buggered ,but you can do wonders with a good colour photocopier also if your buying in the US make sure you allow time to transfer title into your name ,it aint like oz where you walk in and do it ,it can take weeks to get a title in your name, mine is plated in oregon and it took a few weeks ,but my friend sent them by DHL to la paz in Baja ,so i did not have to wait for them ,but that is as far as you will get without a title in your name
cheers dave

I'm planing similar trip for November this year.
Because I'm going "ferry trip" type I think spend $40/days for at least 30 days.. $1200... add $1000 to trip panama/Colombia... ballpark... $3000 is a good idea If you go in an almost "non-stop" trip like me.
If you want to go stopping and see all around... I think $5000 could be a sweet number...:thumbup1::thumbup1::thumbup1:

Just keep watching the posts, PM people that are on the road and ask them what their plan is with their bikes. If they are not selling their bike, they probably met someone who does want to.
