Leaving Bolivia without one's vehicle
I have twice left my vehicle in Uruguay and then left the country for many months and so know there is no problem in doing this. And Argentina gives a permit of up to eight months validity and I understand that one can without problem exit Argentina while the vehicle is in storage.
I am now in Bolivia, where I was given a 90-day vehicle permit. Might I encounter any problem when exiting Bolivia by bus to Argentina without my vehicle (which will still be in Bolivia)? My vehicle is a Land Rover so I hope it's OK to post on this forum. Thanks! |
Funny you should mention leaving vehicles in Uruguay because that happy state of affairs came to an abrupt halt a few days ago when at least two storage yards had all stored vehicles placed under customs seal because they were in violation of the terms of the TVIP which broadly requires the vehicle to be in use by the TVIP holder for the purposes of tourism.
