Motorcycle Rental/Sale/Insurance in Ecuador
 

A friend and I are planning a motorcycle tour around Ecuador in July. I need to preferably rent an on/off road bike for 3-4 weeks. Is this possible? I have not been able to find anything on motorcycle rentals online. If not, I will need to purchase one. I was also told that insurance is mandatory. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

How are things in Ecuador at the moment? The news would have us believe everyone is running around with their hair on fire, and I'm not in contact with the only Ecuadorian acquaintance I've ever had.

I had a good experience with Ecuador Freedom Bike Rental. :thumbup1:

In March 2019 I went with friends to Ecuador. We rented bikes of different sizes, for different purposes. They reserved bigger bikes to ride paved roads and I selected a 300cc bike to ride stretches that were more rugged terrain. Self-guided tour packages worked out well for us. That means you are set up with a cellphone, pre-loaded GPS, a roadbook describing your day-to-day travels, and hotel reservations. Ecuador Freedom Bike Rental is a well-organized tour company, the trip briefing is thoughtful and the bikes are well maintained.
