Need help in Ushuaia, Argentina, with a BMW GS
got a problem with my BMW R1150 GS in Ushuaia, Argentina.
One screew that hold the rear break caliper got loose and lost. the whole break caliper moved out of the disk and broke 1 spooke and demaged other 3. Today is a holiday here in Ushuaia, and not much help available other then a great new friend that has a bike here. So, i need the missing screew and would be great if I could find spokes for the rear wheel. Question: how bad is to ride with that missing spoke and the 3 demaged ones? Any one has a GS down here that I could "borrow" the caliper screew? Thank you Elton |
I have raced heaps with a few broken spokes, never been an issue on a dirt bike. My guess would be that the GS is over engineered and there will be no problems for quite a while.
However do get them replaced when you can. The must be an engineering shop down there that can make you a new screw. Cheers K |
If you're going anywhere near Punta Arenas have a word with Horacio at Patagoniariders (Motorcycle Tours and Rentals Chile - Argentina - Patagonia) he has a fleet of 1150's for hire. He helped us out with tyres and should be able to organise something.
