New BMW Shop in Asunci'on, Paraguay
After searching the HUBB, I thought I would be out of luck in Asuncion, Paraguay, but there is a fairliy new Bike shop that can help out with repairs and parts, mostly on BMWs and KTMs.
The very helpful owner is Ruben Rössner, who likes to ride BMWs and has started to import bikes and parts as an addition to his original business. He speaks Spanish, German, and English and if he can't fix your bike, he'll be at least able to tell you what's your best bet in Paraguay. I got new tires for my R1200GSA, price was about 20% more than in Germany which seems o.k. in South America for imported rubbers. You find Ruben here: Hidrosa S.A. Koordinates of Ruben's company Hidrosa, 9km from the center of Asuncion: S 25°18.960 W57°34.030 Some photos: Ruben at Hidrosa1 Ruben at Hidrosa2 Ruben at Hidrosa3 |
His show looks better equipped and staffed and cleaner than some BMW dealers here in Mexico.

Good news, Asuncion seems to become the best bet for starting a South American tour on a bike.:thumbup1:

I will be traveling from Buenos Aires to Asuncion in two weeks to see if I can buy & insure a bike there, which will then be used to travel around South America. Has anyone done something similar/ any experience with buying a bike in Paraguay? Thanks!
