New laws for foreign vehicles in Colombia?

Hi All! I'm victor, and I'll go from Chile to Alaska at the beginning of 2019. I'd like to know if there's a new laws for foreign vehicles in Colombia? I heard the laws changes recently... Someone knows something??? This is a country where needs Carnet de Passage, but people said they never ask it.

Thanks a lot travellers!: Vespa:

I haven't heard if there are any new laws in Colombia.

No country in the Americas (SA, CA, Mexico) require a Carnet de Passage. Jamaica has special requirements. We left our bikes on the boat, so I don't know the details.

The confusion probably comes from the problems steaming from the Starhaatle(sp) which canceled a few trip this summer due to problems with customs.

AFAIK the laws havent changed but it seems the way they applied it for the bikes coming by small boat has changed.

Probably the confusion comes from exaggeration too ;)

Yes, we just had to change the port of entry to Turbo. Since then everything works perfect again. The escapades of Cartagena customs are just too unpredictable lately to offer a reliable service.
