Nice places to see between BA and Mendosa
I'm in Buenos Aires at the moment and have about one month left before I have to be back in Chile, to ship bike and catch plane.
I was looking at a map and are thinking of riding from BA to Cordoba, then up to Salta and back down to cross the border at Mendosa (in one month). I dont want to go further south, as it is a bit too cold for comfort now and also dont want to ride up to the Uguaza Falls. Are there any suggestions on places to visit and things not to miss from you guys that have been there? johan |
If you are in Cordonba....
Visit the "valle de tras las sierras".From Merlo,San Luis,up to the two pasos across the sierras.Altas Cumbres/Los gigantes!
San Javier(town) and all the little ones in between are nice to visit along the sierras. Remember crossing points are above 2000 meters. Karl |

They are truly spectacular. If you don't want to ride, then park you bike up for 4-5 days and take one of the express coaches. Leave in the evening from BA and by morning you are in Puerto Iguazu!! Go and see the falls, even from the Brazilian side and then back down to BA, pick up the bike and off to Cordoba. We did this when we had prepped our bike for shipping but still had two weeks left in Argentina. The coaches are very comfortable and affordable, even the executive class (you can actually sleep in full recliners.!). |
