Norton Rat's, Cusco
Hi All,
We caught the Norton Rat's Tavern on its last night at its present location, which was good as Hamish could help drink up the beer! Jeff asked me to put a post on here to assure everyone that he's not closing, just moving. He's on the same side of the plaza, just around the corner on the Hostel Casa Grande side, upstairs also. The new place will be opening in February, after a bit of renovation. In the meantime, Paddy's is okay for a good night out, but the pints aren't half as good as Jeff's.... The new address is: Santa Catalina Angosta 116. It's opposite a mini-market called Gato's - the old sign will be up anyway. Bye for now, Emma |
Good News
Emma,
I was just there the end of June. We always stay at the Hostal Loreto beside it. Friends like it because we can fill the inside patio with motos and there are Incan walls INSIDE the bedrooms! Anyway, it was my son's 17th B-Day and after his first drink at Norton's, the boys threw him in the fountain in the middle of the plaza at midnight! The next day we parted ways - the other 9 back to Pucallpa and Luke and I on to Brazil. How is Jeff's other potentially new place up north near Cajamarca going? Toby Around the Block 2007 | |
Hey Toby, I thought that post sounded very familiar. I am enjoying reading your website and making my own plans.
My riding buddy Mike and I stopped in a couple days ago (02/08/08) to checkout the Norton Rat´s Tavern and the new location which is right next door (new location is on the corner) to the old location. Unfortunately Jeff will not be open until the end of March but you can still stop by and meet him. If your lucky, Jeff will spot you from the street as you pull up but you can also just knock on his door which is around the corner as you walk away from the plaza. You will know your in the right spot when you see Gato´s Market and A great big Irish pub called Paddy´s I think. There is a great hostal for bikers called Casa Grande that is fairly close to Geoff´s. It is reasonable for Cusco and 20 soles per night. |
Where are you now?
Gatogato,
Where are you now? Are you planning on heading towards Brazil? What's up with your journal, I can't seem to get on it. Casa Grande soulds good. Hostal Loreto was great because it had the inside to store the bikes and back stairs to Nortons, but with Jeff moving ( Loreot charges $15) ..... Does Casa Grande have inside parking for bikes?:scooter: Toby |
