Obtaining a bike and rego in SA
G'day guys and gals,
I've read some threads and have gotten some valid information but some things are still not clear or are just out of date... I am also an aussie and looking at travelling around SA at the end of the year. As i'm not totally set on where i start/go (either argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru), I'd rather fly into somewhere, where it's easier to buy/register a bike. Additionally there are few other things;
PS. I found a really good thread on this but it was last updated in 2006... thanks heaps in advance!!! Tom :mchappy: |
There are a few extensive posts on this if you do a decent search.
This is one of them http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...xplained-34081 Chile is considered the easiest country to buy a bike legally. Good luck |
Hmm, I found lachy's thread to be very helpful indeed. I suppose all I'm worrying about now is how easy it is to cross borders. It seems every few months it changes and that where some people get through one boarder others don't... I'm thinking now of taking over my XR400 with VIC plates. Ah well i still have a few months to suss it all out.
